La competici\u00f3n fue cancelada en 1936 por motivos econ\u00f3micos y entre 1940 y 1948 a causa de la\u00a0Segunda Guerra Mundial.\u00a0Tradicionalmente, la carrera comienza a las 16:00 de un s\u00e1bado.\u00a0Las carreras sol\u00edan comenzar con lo que se conoce como \u00absalida Le Mans\u00bb: los coches est\u00e1n alineados en un lado del circuito y los pilotos en el otro.
